Don't get me wrong, I'm not turning my nose at people who struggle to do well (I'm not exactly a mastermind myself), but the legion expansion has made people lazy in terms of finding their jackpot system. We need to get used to gold making going from the "all for all" system to the current "all for one" system and the first step is understanding that the WoW economy is never decidedly made good or bad as if it somehow exists along the same lines as class design and gameplay mechanics.
The Heart of Azeroth is an artifact given to the player character from the world soul via Magni Bronzebeard. It is a necklace that can use the power of Azerite, the lifeblood of the embryonic titan Azeroth (See Plot, below). Azerite is similar in function to Legion's artifact power, in that it is gathered normally from playing the game and is used to upgrade an artifact; likewise, the Heart is similar in function to Legion's artifact weapons by having the capacity to be constantly upgraded. Unlike artifact weapons, however, the Heart is shared with all of the player's specializations and can empower all eligible pieces worn simultaneously.
That's where i'm at now. I got into it late. I had 40k to start. Sold fish up to about 100k total starting capital. Started making and selling decks when they were going for 80-200k on my server. Morons have repeatedly undercut decks by 30-60k at a time even after the market has been reset (not by me) multiple times. Now the decks are 25-80k... I did manage to make 3.5m gross in the last 2 weeks. Now the individual cards are selling for MUCH less than the decks so I may stop crafting myself and just start buying the individuals... idk where to go from there though. Do you think the decks will hold any value moving forward? I'm kind of hoping for something similar to obliterum in legion to increase the ilvl and keep them relevant.
Many things are payable in-game with WoW gold such as travelling through continents, buying mounts or new equipments. I make about 60% of my profit from old world item sales, and 40% from BFA sales. What BFA provides me that old world items don't is immediate gratification- If someone posts a stack of 200 monelite ore 10% below market value, I can immediately buy and repost for 2k profit and have it sell in 2 minutes, and do this 20 times an hour. I currently have 2000 pieces of ghost iron sitting on the AH that aren't selling, and since I put it up I've sold plenty of flipped BFA materials. Ghost iron absolutely sells at a high rate, but it is slower than BFA mats.
I'm pretty excited about where the various gathering professions could go this expansion. Crafting expansions actually have good stuff to craft to prepare for the upcoming raid so gathering items will be needed. On top of that nodes are giving out less so more effort equals higher prices. Now where this goes past launch I'm not sure but stuff like Mining and Herbalism should be solid at the beginning.

This equipment has multiple tiers of that can be unlocked, represented by a series of concentric wheels with icons representing individual powers; as individual powers are selected, they rotate into slots at the top of the interface, activating the selected benefit and locking out the others unless the player pays to reset their decision. Outer rings offer multiple choices, some based around the character's class and specification, others around the zone or circumstances in which the gear was acquired. Changes were also made to levelling in earlier content with Legion's 7.3.5 patch. The level-scaling tech introduced in Legion not only be continued in the new continents of Kul Tiras and Zandalar, but was also be applied to content from prior expansions, allowing larger level brackets for lower level zones. Further, as previous expansions are now included in the base game, the level ranges for those expansions are now broadened, allowing players to spend more time leveling in preferred expansions and avoid others entirely. A profession’s higher skill will allow you to create more powerful items. If you change a primary profession, you will lose any skill you have made with your original profession. So it is important to choose your primary professions wisely.


Inscription – This one deserves its own category. I recently got back into this profession and I think it can make some serious gold at all levels due to how glyphs work now. On the flip side, glyphs are cosmetic one time uses only and the market can be really slow for the less interesting ones. I also recently installed TSM and I think you need some kind of addon like this to manage your production and sales if you are going to be in the glyph market. BfA is also keeping the tomes and adding in new reputation contracts so that could also provide a steady income.

Let's talk about the construction. The plug is made of a gold plated banana plug with two tiny screws for the speaker cable to be plugged into, two small screws to hold the cable sheath in place. If you transmute 10 times then you can't rely on the 20% proc rate, once you pass 1000 though, you're average will start approaching the true rate of 1.2 bars per transmute. If you are in this for the long haul it then makes a lot of sense to use the average proc rate to calculate your profits, especially considering the fact that all the items involved sell really well.

Meanwhile, in Zandalar, the Horde seeks to earn the trust of King Rastakhan so they can use his legendary Golden Fleet against the Alliance. To this end, they assist Rastakhan and his court in dealing with local threats in Zuldazar, fight maniacal Blood Trolls in Nazmir, and face off with serpentine Old God cultists in Vol'dun. Throughout their journey, the Horde gradually learns about an eldricth being known as G'huun, an artificial Old God accidentally created by the Titans and the patron deity of the Blood Trolls. The Blood Trolls and the Faithless Sethekk seek to free G'huun from his prison of Uldir so they can use him to rule Azeroth, and to this end they resurrect G'huun's champion, the C'thrax Mythrax, to destroy Uldir's seal. Rastakhan's own chief adviser, the prophet Zul, is revealed to be the Blood Trolls' secret leader and launches an armed revolt against Rastakhan. With the Horde champions' help, Rastakhan is able to defeat Zul and his forces, but not before Mythrax destroys Uldir's seal.

When an allied race has been unlocked for a player, new characters from that race will start at level 20. If a player levels an Allied race from 20 to level 110 without using character boosts, they will be rewarded with a unique "Heritage Armor" for transmogrification that reflects the unique lore behind the race but is limited for use to that race. Doing the quests to unlock the allied races will also unlock the races' unique mounts for use by the characters of their faction.[5] The void elves, Lightforged draenei, Highmountain tauren, and Nightborne, as races tied to the storyline for Legion, were made available with the preorder on January 30, 2018.[7] The Dark Iron dwarves and the Mag'har orcs are made available upon completing the "War Campaign" in Kul Tiras and Zandalar and reaching Exalted with one faction's War Campaign reputation; the Kul Tiran humans and Zandalari will be made available later in the expansion. Game director Ion Hazzikostas also indicated that additional Allied Races may be available in the future.[8]
All I know is that Scribes are going to make bank with those Contracts. All guides talks about them and everyone will want them. Better ride that money wave while we can. Other than that, Alchemy and Jewelcrafting are always safe bets. Engineers can get an item for followers to bring back more Azerite, ot sure how much of a headstart that's gonna give them. The rest of the professions honestly looks kinda lame since most of everything is BoP anyway.
You can giggle as much as you want but none of the golems i posted took more than 3 days to sell. Never, ever. OP made a quite good point on farming ore, as GIO sells higher than BfA ore, and it is much easier to farm. Suggestions that OP made are for everyone and not just for your realm ( where apparently old world enchanting mats cost way more than they should, taking into account how low the margin is). Making gold is not about being lucky to snipe something or to get something to drop, but to have constant income whatever is going around on your realm.

But every new character made that wants to craft old expansion stuff will have to level using expansion specific materials. Stocking up on profession materials that are already high in demand can be a great idea. This will primarily be materials used to craft the various mounts. Ghost Iron, Trillium, Living Steel, Pyrium etc. are all great candidates to stock up on.
I think what you're actually talking about when you say "niche" is the barrier to entry for new players. It sounds like you're worried that new players can pick up crafting professions and compete easier than before. Again, I'd say that the alpha build info in the OP looks pretty much the same as the current expansion. The true barrier to entry isn't the ability to level the profession quickly, it's actually recipe ranks. Some really good examples of this in the current expansion are rank 3 bracers, rank 3 flasks, and rank 3 felwort. It takes a certain level of investment to get those ranks, and the goblin activities related to those crafts simply aren't profitable/competitive without rank 3.
Those are low prices indeed! In those cases, just look into something else, but there's always gold to be made, as you pointed out :) And there is no shame in being unefficient, not everyone wants to spend their time getting optimized for goldmaking, if you can pay for your month I think it's great already! That's what kept me into it, the fact that I'm paying by playing, I love it

If you're a new player and buying gold (for some startup money) isn't an option, there's nothing wrong with gathering (especially if you're getting BfA...it'll be good gold initially if you farm BfA mats and sell high). You can make pretty good money just flipping stuff...and because Legion items are super risky now, it's a good time to get spirits of harmony (just buy what you can and sell it in in bigger stacks at higher costs or turn it into ore/bars or lotus to sell when that is profitable). I'd avoid putting all of your gold there though. Sometimes a bot or just someone returning to the game will dump 10+ stacks of 200 spirits cheap and tanks the markets for a bit. Flipping (if you get good at it) will make you more gold in than long run than farming but if you don't have much gold either is a step forward from here. They key to making gold is having the flexibility to lock up most of your gold in items and wait patiently to sell them at a good price but you gotta start small (or cheat like me...when I came back in December I just spent $100 on tokens and haven't spent money on anything other than the Collector's edition since. It's a lot easier to make gold if you already have some.

They already are with the leveling changes and Blizz fucking up the API. AH focused players have been flying blind the last few weeks without API, as well as the re-introduction of unobtainable items that are now back in the game, as well as the enchanting changes (Dusts got squished already). Some of them are waiting it out, others are just doing their normal thing.

Suggestions that OP made are for everyone and not just for your realm ( where apparently old world enchanting mats cost way more than they should, taking into account how low the margin is). Making gold is not about being lucky to snipe something or to get something to drop, but to have constant income whatever is going around on your realm.

well reforging does the same thing, upgrades from profs make economy more alive and profs thenselves more usefull, by this logic we should also remove gems completely and posiibly flasks also...+ i never wrote anything about enchanting every piece of gear, just leg enchants from LW, cloak embroidery from tailoring, extra socket on wrists from BS and also weapon enchants are coming back I suppose (which is nullified by removal of neck enchants), this really isnt a hassle imo
