I’m between jobs atm so I only had enough money to get a month (haven’t played since legion launched) so I’ve been stressing about trying to somehow build my gold up to buy game time instead of enjoying it. I’ve had a lot of fun just trying to catch up on my Demon Hunter (maxed his level and am about to start the Mage Tower stuff and work towards reputation for allied races) and when it gets tedious, I’ll switch over to my engineer and craft stuff or level my new character I’m going to use for herbalism and alchemy. Like I said, engineering is the best when you aren't worried about making gold. The Loot-a-rang is super useful, nitro-boosts are nice when they don't fail, and the glider cape enchant is nice too... you get wormholes to Pandaria, Draenor (make sure you have a glider), Legion, and Argus (as well as a couple old world teleport locations)...Jeeves (and to a lesser extent Reeves) and MOLL-E are also super useful (bank and mail access anywhere, repairs, etc.).

I'm pretty excited about where the various gathering professions could go this expansion. Crafting expansions actually have good stuff to craft to prepare for the upcoming raid so gathering items will be needed. On top of that nodes are giving out less so more effort equals higher prices. Now where this goes past launch I'm not sure but stuff like Mining and Herbalism should be solid at the beginning.
Enchanting, Jewelcrafing and Alchemy are also good quality choices no matter what the expansion is because potions, elixirs, flasks they are always needed which made by Alchemists. Then we have enchanting pretty much the exact same thing with alchemy. There is no expansion where people would not need enchants. Then we have jewelcrafting once again same thing, stat gems which always go for a fair price in Auction House.  Also this profession synergizes with mining and making good profit by only purchase and prospecting ores.

Any decently geared 90 can complete a Pit of Saron trash mob run in 3-5 minutes. Each mob in the heroic version has a chance of dropping a Battered Hilt, which sell on the auction house for around 10k. Video guides will show the best route to take to pull all the trash mobs at once if you're a class with good AOE; other classes can simply pull less mobs at a time and loot as they go. While this method is a little less reliable than farming Vale-- after all, you're left to the mercy of RNG gods-- it has a higher chance of huge windfall because you could get a multiple hilts every run. Pull the mobs, burn 'em down, and cross your fingers when you loot. On top of the hilts, there's plenty of vendor trash, BoP epics for enchanters, and even a trinket that turns you into a gorilla. You will have to have completed the Forge of Souls in Icecrown Citadel to access this particular dungeon, though.

Allied races: Our new allies will join the factions and players will be able to unlock the ability to play their race. There are 6 planned for launch. Battle for Azeroth, despite the endless grind, has been an exciting expansion this far. However, raids and additional content are what makes the game great. Blizzard has made the entry level into the new expansion welcoming for new players and some die-hard critics have shared their concerns with the current direction Blizzard are going with making the gaming “easier.”
There's a few profession crafted pets in BfA on the horizon - Battle for Azeroth Tailoring is getting a Hot Air Balloon style pet, and BfA Alchemy looks to be getting a brand new Transmute Meat to Pet. There are some mount buff consumables from both BfA Leatherworking in the form of a mount barding, and Blacksmithing in Battle for Azeroth will be able to craft Stirrups and Hoofplates to increase mount speed and allow you to interact with things while mounted.
If you're willing to dedicate, get tailoring for increased cloth drops, and look at group finder. Under custom search for "boe" and try to find and join a 2x4 farm group. It's basically just hours of leading npcs into a grinder for loot, but you'll make 20-40k an hour from cloth depending on server prices, and on average every 2-4 hrs you'll find a boe epic worth 80-250k, if luck permits.
Mythic+ rewards will also go up by 30 item levels; however, during the first week of Season 2, rewards from end-of-run chests will be capped at Mythic 6 quality (item level 385), and the chest you open next week will contain Season 1 rewards if you do a Mythic+ run this week. (So, for example, if you do a Mythic 10 during the final week of Season 1, you’ll get a Season 1 item level 380 piece and 60 Residuum from your first Season 2 chest.)

Patch 5.3, like all new updates, is attracting a throng of returning players, many of which will be undergeared and willing to spend Gold to catch up with the rest. While the profits might not be as lucrative as with the new items, there may be less competition here. The key here is scanning the market for in-demand leveling gear and producing the right amount to avoid getting stuck with an unsellable stack of outdated items.

Otherwise, its a pretty lackluster expansion profession-wise as there are no useful sellable gear besides Inscription trinkets. Legion had good and variety stat gear across all professions (JC could make BiS socket-rings, now JC is the worst proff ever, so sad). I hope they change stuff soon but I'm not optimistic about it. You should probably level Pandaria Engineering and Alchemy as much as you can on your characters and invest in Ghost Iron Bar/Trillium Bar transmutes to either sell Living Steel or hold them to craft Sky Golem (30-40k profit each char per month). It's hard to maintain a steady flow of GIB/TB though. I "only" have 6 engineers and my stock drys up pretty quickly.


Making gold = work, people just want to be lazy and cash in but today a lot of people use TSM, have access to this reddit, youtube guides, etc. More and more people play wow to make gold so ofc the AH work gets harder, you just need to find your niche, i'm making gold with Tailoring from MoP and Cata for transmogs, not a lot of work to farm maths and i sell each piece around 10k, 7 pieces per week and i'm fine for a month.

I know if you aren't using hunters than you'll really want the loot-a-rang for easy looting, so that would take up one of your professions. In all honesty If i was going to do it id level up a hunter team and only hyperfarm with them, while doing other things with the mains. As far as regular professions go, they don't really seem worth it anymore like they did back in the old days, so I'd personally stick with gathering stuff as you are hitting nodes x5

Valid pieces for Azerite empowerment are available for the chest, shoulder, and head slots of all classes. This equipment has multiple tiers of that can be unlocked, represented by a series of concentric wheels with icons representing individual powers; as individual powers are selected, they rotate into slots at the top of the interface, activating the selected benefit and locking out the others unless the player pays to reset their decision. Outer rings offer multiple choices, some based around the character's class and specification, others around the zone or circumstances in which the gear was acquired. The innermost circle offers no such options, instead being a boost to the level of the item itself, and thus providing a flat all-around benefit.
