When it comes to farming and acquiring stashes of gold, perhaps the first thing that comes to mind is doing raids or dungeons. That sounds great, but there are a few issues. First and foremost, it'd be virtually impossible to solo new content for maximum profit. Then, being in a group means that the earned gold is split and you're only getting a fraction of what you could be getting if you were on your own. Last but not least, finding reliable and good groups for raids and dungeons might prove to be quite the challenge.


Set up TSM properly, learn it well and I can already see the power potential it has. Second is diversify your markets, learn other markets and the more you set up the more potential profit you have. Third is probably leveling alts so you have a wide range of professions ready to tackle any future opportunities for profit. Forth read patch notes religiously.
Cooking might be a fair surprise to some people but the thing is cooking is not a primary profession and usually it’s overlooked. I believe that’s why it’s still a valid method for making gold. The cooking products sell for like 20-30 gold each and people just don’t care about them. If you craft like 2000 cooking products in a day and get minimum 10 gold from each, that means 20k gold every single day.

Consumables (Alchemy, Jewelcrafting, Enchanting) – When I have gotten a toon to max level and managed to get all of the end game recipes/ranks, I have done well. However, I never have much luck with the lower level items. It feels to me like if someone is going to buy a gem, enchant, or flask, they want the best one or none at all. Maybe that comes down to the servers I play on, but it does make sense compared to how I play my own toons. I either am going to gear up a toon for endgame or not worry about it at all. Alchemy does have the benefit of transmutes which even the low level ones can make some decent gold. JC does have the MOP mounts and pets if you can get the recipes for them but otherwise these professions feel like max level or bust to me.

"Players can get these powerful items, empower them, and which gameplay-affecting powers they want to use or focus on without feeling like they’re just playing the lottery and hoping they get the Pyroblast Bracers or whatever the magical legendary they need to enable the rotation they want to do," Hazzikostas said. Like I said, engineering is the best when you aren't worried about making gold. The Loot-a-rang is super useful, nitro-boosts are nice when they don't fail, and the glider cape enchant is nice too... you get wormholes to Pandaria, Draenor (make sure you have a glider), Legion, and Argus (as well as a couple old world teleport locations)...Jeeves (and to a lesser extent Reeves) and MOLL-E are also super useful (bank and mail access anywhere, repairs, etc.).

That's where i'm at now. I got into it late. I had 40k to start. Sold fish up to about 100k total starting capital. Started making and selling decks when they were going for 80-200k on my server. Morons have repeatedly undercut decks by 30-60k at a time even after the market has been reset (not by me) multiple times. Now the decks are 25-80k... I did manage to make 3.5m gross in the last 2 weeks. Now the individual cards are selling for MUCH less than the decks so I may stop crafting myself and just start buying the individuals... idk where to go from there though. Do you think the decks will hold any value moving forward? I'm kind of hoping for something similar to obliterum in legion to increase the ilvl and keep them relevant.

WowHead reported that the 8.1.5 patch in the Public Test Realm added "Stanley", a thin man with gray-white hair and sunglasses who greets people by shouting “Excelsior!” So far, he was only found in Stormwind, reflecting the colors and armor of the Alliance. The thing I liked best about the wide shuffle of those days was that it made ALL of my alts feel valuable. I'd get some ore some was sent to the miner to be smelted and then on to the blacksmith for belt buckles. The rest went to the jewelcrafter to prospect. Some of those got cut, the rest got turned into jewelry that was either sold or disenchanted. The enchanter then converted those mats into scrolls. Meanwhile the army of alchemists transmuted that expansion's elemental material (volatiles, sorcerous, etc). It felt like a whole business operation.

For what it's worth, I like the leveling changes, but I also think that the profession changes are beneficial. Once they removed the utility of most professions; it became more of a hobby. Crafting should be fun. When it gave perks, it was fun, but Blizz, correctly, decided that it was creating forced gameplay (min/maxers always picked certain profs). So they changed it. Well when a prof doesn't give you any gameplay perks AND it's tedious...it's not fun. Especially if you're starting from scratch and outleveling your profs because you're blowing through levels so quickly.
