Professions skills are split between expansions now, you'll have a separate skill bar for each expansion. This means you can level the new Battle for Azeroth skill tier without putting any point into any of the previous expansions tiers, you don't have to level Leatherworking with older materials to be able to craft the new BfA items. -New dungeons- About 3/4 are fairly decent, not too long not too short, but none of them are compelling, none make me say to my friends and guildies, "Hey, let's do this instance, I love the theme and encounters." They're dull but tolerable. The other 1/4 of the dungeons just aren't fun and you will groan when you get a mythic Keystone for the Underrot, the snake temple, or Waycrest Manor. Waycrest Manor is actually one of the better dungeons, however, with the new Infested affix, Waycrest Manor suffers from many game-breaking bugs that end in the entire instance being pulled due to doors not properly working as intended.
Inscription – This one deserves its own category. I recently got back into this profession and I think it can make some serious gold at all levels due to how glyphs work now. On the flip side, glyphs are cosmetic one time uses only and the market can be really slow for the less interesting ones. I also recently installed TSM and I think you need some kind of addon like this to manage your production and sales if you are going to be in the glyph market. BfA is also keeping the tomes and adding in new reputation contracts so that could also provide a steady income.

In the past two days from doing Island Expeditions on the side (about 20 total) I got 6 transmog items of TSM values between 15k and 150k. I sold 3 so far totaling 140k (Plundered Squid Caster: 50k because I wanted to be rid of it, Stinkrot Smasher: 69k, Razorfin Breastplate: 28k). Pet drops are a different story and while you can sell them, the fact that they need to be looted for the achievement means that the potential buyer pool is smaller.

At least they didn't require dungeons and raids to get through the basic skilling-up this time; I remember a lot of people were unhappy about that in Legion; I boosted some through for quests who weren't comfortable in a queue. It was always a traditional occupation for people who don't/can't group. Again, I appreciate the small mercy. They may need to strangle professions, but it was unnecessary to be just mean to people.
There’s a lot of #content in the new expansion. It’s mostly locked behind a variety of gates, some of which players can’t even control. Warfronts are the best example. You might assume joining a Warfront is a simple matter of opening the group finder. Wrong! Warfronts are only accessible for a week at a time. It’s not precisely clear how often that week will come around (it’s based both on a time gate and on the opposing faction gathering resources) but, as of right now, it looks likely to be available just one week out of every four.
I'm aware that the LS chain can be xmuted up all the way up from GIO. This is great since it means ultimately you only need to track/acquire one item. The procs can certainly increase your profit margin, but as I said in my top-level comment the profitability of the whole endeavor is server-dependent. These numbers will of course vary from server to server, and for some it might be worth it.

There are still 950 profession levels in total, just that there is no one single progress bar with 1 to 950 for it anymore. Instead, there are 8 separate progress bars. Like I said, engineering is the best when you aren't worried about making gold. The Loot-a-rang is super useful, nitro-boosts are nice when they don't fail, and the glider cape enchant is nice too... you get wormholes to Pandaria, Draenor (make sure you have a glider), Legion, and Argus (as well as a couple old world teleport locations)...Jeeves (and to a lesser extent Reeves) and MOLL-E are also super useful (bank and mail access anywhere, repairs, etc.).

I know if you aren't using hunters than you'll really want the loot-a-rang for easy looting, so that would take up one of your professions. In all honesty If i was going to do it id level up a hunter team and only hyperfarm with them, while doing other things with the mains. As far as regular professions go, they don't really seem worth it anymore like they did back in the old days, so I'd personally stick with gathering stuff as you are hitting nodes x5

Similar problems have risen in the leveling system, which automatically scales to the player’s level and equipment. For the most part, you’ll vaporize enemies more quickly as you gain power, but there are some weird dips. Many players complained they felt less powerful at level 119 than at level 110, a problem I experienced myself. Mythic+ has some similarity to raiding, but it’s designed for just five players, instead of the 10-to-30 that can make up a raid. This mode tasks players with clearing the game’s dungeons, but with specific changes that make them harder, scaling up until it’s impossible for groups to finish. Players receive a keystone in their inventory that assigns them their dungeon, one of the game’s 10, and gives the dungeon a level. This determines how difficult enemies are and what effects might make them harder. All of this is to say that while you make some good points, such as not trying to farm what everyone else is farming, look for other opportunities, it's not always as simple as just going back to old content. Plus, I am a pet collector, and there are plenty of pets to collect in the new dungeon. Completing the dungeon’s challenge mode grants players a Mini Spider Tank battle pet. Continue playing on a weekly basis to earn currency towards items like the Unopened Gnomeregan Supply Box, Mechanical Cockroach, Schematic: Mechantula, Leper Rat Tail, and Rechargeable Alarm-O-Dog Battery.
For what it's worth, I like the leveling changes, but I also think that the profession changes are beneficial. Once they removed the utility of most professions; it became more of a hobby. Crafting should be fun. When it gave perks, it was fun, but Blizz, correctly, decided that it was creating forced gameplay (min/maxers always picked certain profs). So they changed it. Well when a prof doesn't give you any gameplay perks AND it's tedious...it's not fun. Especially if you're starting from scratch and outleveling your profs because you're blowing through levels so quickly.
Let me start by saying that I had pretty high expectations for this product when ordered. For background, I am an electrical engineer who works on products requiring high fidelity transmission of signals for safety relevant automotive application. Platting is very important for signal transmission and especially a solid bond between the conductor and terminal (banana plug in this case).
Disagree with your comments on Sky Golem. You need about 4200 ghost iron ore make this. Ghost Iron ore turns into bars which are used for Jard's Power source, but you only need 300 bars for that. You also need living steel which is transmuted from triullium, which in turn is transmuted from ghost iron. If you have an transmute master you proc on average about 20 additional trillium bars, that's like 7000g in savings.
Rank 3 is terrible design, if they we're most open about how they drop etc. I, as a avid LW collector (Yes I have all recipes in-game but IIRC 1 from vanilla, few from TBC that was removed due to stupid design), and I still dont have all rank3 from LW despite plenty of runs through the 5 mans for em...Ill just wait for next exp or w/e and stealth runs.

Patience and extra gold are rather important for the mounts so it might not be best for you right now. As for the operation (Wrath and Pandaria mounts right now), you need a miner (ore is cheaper than bars), transmutation master alchemists (living steel and some time eternals for daily cooldown, titanium and riddle of steel), and potentially multiple engineers (for more Sky Golems, plus at least one gnomish and one goblin if you want to do both rockets). The best way to source Pandaria mats cheaply is to buy up Spirit of Harmony when it's cheap and check often for mats cheaper than the conversion rate (1 Spirit buys 20 ghost iron ore, 5 trillium ore, 20 Kyparite, and more). Same with Eternals (for crafting titansteel)...you have to regularly check and grab them up whenever they're cheap (frozen orbs can be exchanged for eternals in old Dalaran too so watch for some cheap orbs as well). I also sell Golden Lotus on the side since it goes for more than the Spirit cost. (Edit: Also should point out that at the end of the expansion everyone is bored with nothing better to do so the profits on the mounts have dipped to as low as 5k.)
